N.E.W. DIRT held their first event of the season at the Seymour Speedway with an open practice day on Sunday April 28 as a shake down for the drivers and the track. After extensive work last fall and the lingering winter, crews only had this past week to work on the track. A total of 59 cars took to the track and positive comments were abundant throughout the day. The sunny 72 degree temps made the track slick over almost right away, but it stayed smooth from top to bottom all day.
Focus now shifts to this Sunday, May 5, when N.E.W. DIRT hosts their 30th Anniversary season opener on the banked 1/3 mile oval at the Seymour Speedway. Pit gates will open at 2 PM and drivers are urged to get to the track early for sign in. All events will be draw/re-draw with the cut off at 4 PM. Racing will start at 5 PM.
All drivers MUST be club members to compete with memberships only $10.00. Pit admission is $18.00 for members and $25.00 for non-members.
The grandstand will open at 3 PM. Admissions are unchanged with adults $10.00, Seniors 55 and over and Students 13-18 $7.00 with kids 12 and under FREE with an adult.
