February 3- N.E.W. DIRT officials announced that for the first time since the 2008 season, Late Models will again be part of the weekly Sunday night racing programs at the Seymour Speedway.
Jeff Curtain made a pitch to the club to sanction the FAST TRACK Late Models weekly. Club officials decided to give the division a try for 2013. The FAST TRACKS need a 12 show season to qualify for their Nationals, and the group is looking forward to running the banked 1/3 mile oval at Seymour.
The past 4 seasons, the late models have run here under WDLMA rules for the Spring Thaw and the three race Holiday Classic series. That will be the same program for this season. The regular weekly races will be run under FAST TRACK rules.
This will make the weekly programs six divisions strong, with the FAST TRACK Late Models joining the IMCA sanctioned Modifieds, Stock Cars and Sport Mods along with the Street Stocks and 4 Cylinders.
Because of the added division, the weekly racing programs will start at 5 PM for 2013.
