Hometown ace Brian Mullen of Seymour slipped by Greenville’s Travis Spaulding with two laps remaining to win the green-to-checkered, 20 lap IMCA modified feature at Seymour Speedway Sunday night. With his heat win earlier Mullen netted a sweep for the night.

A total of 109 cars showed up to race, including 19 IMCA modifieds, 26 stock cars, 23 northern sportmods, 19 street stocks and 22 4 bangers.

Spaulding appeared headed to victory early on, as he shot into the lead at the drop of the green. Mullen, who started in row six, carefully picked his way through the field, taking second at the event’s halfway point. Mullen committed to the high side, while Spaulding kept his racer down low. Mullen mixed it up both high and low and finally pulled off the pass on lap 18. Mullen hung on for the win, with Spaulding posting a second place finish. Luxemburg’s Benji LaCrosse, Green Bay’s Chris Engels and Seymour’s Mike Mullen rounded out the top five finishes.

Hometown driver Shawn “Lunchbox” Wagner put a stomping on his foes, winning by a full straightaway and padding his points lead by winning the 20 lap IMCA stock car feature. Pulaski’s “Hot Rod” Snellenberger settled for second in the caution free event. Gillett’s Kyle Frederick caught Pulaski’s Junior Karcz with two laps remaining to take third. Karcz took foruth with Kaukauna’s Brandon Czarapata rounding out the top five finishers.

Black Creek’s Chad Guyette nipped Oconto’s Rob Charapada at the line by a mere foot to capture a photo finish, 20 lap IMCA northern sportmod main.

Guyette committed to the high side as he slowly began reeling in Charapada in the final ten laps. Charapada hugged the bottom groove while Guyette committed to the top. Charapada held on to second, followed by New Franken's Brad Lautenbach, Greg Wichman of Bonduel and De Pere's Johnny Whitman.

Black Creek’s Joe Schwister swept action in the street stocks, winning both his heat and the 20 lap feature. Schwister was challenged by Oshkosh’s Jerry Winkler the balance of the contest. Schwister also won the night prior at Thunder Hill Raceway in Sturgeon Bay. Winkler hung on for second, followed by Kaukauna’s Matt Drawenek, Appleton’s Chas Van Ooyen and Black Creek’s Derek Lecker.

Krakow’s Josh Mroczkowski won his second straight 20 lap 4 banger feature.

Racing will continue Sunday August 22 with Complete Radiator of Appleton as the sponsor. Racing starts at 6 p.m. The track phone is (920) 833-7726.
