Gillett’s Kyle Frederick followed suit, winning his heat and fending off arch rivals John Heinz of Green Bay and Pulaski’s Rod Snellenberger to win the 20 lap IMCA stock car feature and his heat, garnering a sweep for the night.

A total of 137 cars showed up to race, including 28 IMCA modifieds, 30 stock cars, 29 northern sportmods, 27 street stocks and 24 4 bangers.

Deau took the lead at the drop of the green in the IMCA mod feature, while LaCrosse started 11th. LaCrosse had clawed his way to second by lap 10, and wasted no time in reeling in Deau. LaCrosse muscled inside of Deau with six laps to go and sped away to victory. Deau hung on for second. Seymour’s Mike Mullen nipped Green Bay’s Chris Engels at the line for third. Seymour’s Brian Mullen rounded out the top five.

Frederick waged a see-saw battle with Snellenberger in the waning laps, and wound up breaking Shawn Wagner’s four-in-a-row win streak. Heinz took second followed by Snellenberger, Wagner and Luxemburg’s Bill Kelsey.

De Pere’s Johnny Whitman ducked underneath Shawano’s Tracy Wassenberg for the lead on lap four and fought off a late challenge by Wassenberg in the final two laps to collect his first, 20 lap IMCA northern sportmod feature win. Wassenberg settled for second at the checkers, followed by Hortonville’s Travis Van Straten, Green Bay’s Troy Jerovetz and Beaver Dam’s Jeff Schmuhl. Defending track champion Todd Everard of Green Bay passed Kaukauna’s Danny Gracyalny for the lead on lap six and survived two caution periods to win his first, 20 lap street stock feature of the season.

Points leader Matt Drawenek of Kaukauna got caught up in a lap two wreck. The mishap sent him off with the help of a wrecker, and thus surrendering the points lead to Everard.

A pair of violent rollovers occurred in separate incidents at the start of the 4 banger finish. Krakow’s Rachel Czarapata and Kaukauna’s Ben Meyerhoffer both rolled their mounts, but escaped unhurt. Pulaski’s Dean DeKeyser won the time shortened, caution plagued event.

Next Sunday night’s races on June 13 are sponsored by Titletown Express. Racing gets underway at 6 p.m. For more information check the track website seymoursuperspeedway.net.
