Seymour Set for Sunday

N.E.W. DIRT held their first event of the season at the Seymour Speedway with an open practice day on Sunday April 28 as a shake down for the drivers and the track. After extensive work last fall and the lingering winter, crews only had this past week to work on the track. A total of 59 cars took to the track and positive comments were abundant throughout the day. The sunny 72 degree temps made the track slick over almost right away, but it stayed smooth from top to bottom all day.

Focus now shifts to this Sunday, May 5, when N.E.W. DIRT hosts their 30th Anniversary season opener on the banked 1/3 mile oval at the Seymour Speedway. Pit gates will open at 2 PM and drivers are urged to get to the track early for sign in. All events will be draw/re-draw with the cut off at 4 PM. Racing will start at 5 PM.

All drivers MUST be club members to compete with memberships only $10.00. Pit admission is $18.00 for members and $25.00 for non-members.

The grandstand will open at 3 PM. Admissions are unchanged with adults $10.00, Seniors 55 and over and Students 13-18 $7.00 with kids 12 and under FREE with an adult.

Six divisions will take to the track for the weekly Sunday night programs. Headlining will be the IMCA sanctioned Modifieds, Stock Cars and Sport Mods. Street Stock and 4 Cylinders help fill the bill and this year, the Fastrack Late Models return to the weekly slot for the firat time in several years. It all adds up to plenty of racing action to close out your weeknds throughout the season.

Holiday Classic Update

May 24- N.E.W. DIRT is set for a BIG night of racing Sunday night at the Seymour Speedway.

The first leg of the 2013 Summer Holiday Classic series takes to the track with 6 divisions featuring the WDLMA Late Models.   The big late models will run a 30 lap feature on the 1/3 mile banked clay oval and will be joined by the Budweiser IMCA Modifieds, Coors Light IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Sort Mods, Street Stocks and 4 Cylinders.

DIRT when the club was formed in 1984 to keep racing in Seymour alive.   With the 30th Anniversary this year, officials  wanted a way to show their appreciation to the man who had a life long commitment to racing, not only in the state of Wisconsin, but far beyond its borders.

The pit will open at 2 PM Sunday.   Pit passes for this event will be $20.00 across the board.   The Late Models have a $25.00 entry fee.

The grandstand will open at 3 PM.  Admission for this special event is $15.00 for adults,  Seniors over 55 and students 13-18 are $10.00 and as always, kids 12 and under are FREE with an adult.

The green flag drops at 5 PM Sunday.

The weather will be clear but a bit cool Sunday, but what  perfect weather for a full on night of hot racing action.
