Seymour Sunday April 19

Title Contenders Ready for Point Season to Start

Seymour April 18- Final prep today for the first point night of 2015 Sunday at the Seymour Speedway.

The five regular season divisions will run for track points for the first time this season.  The Thunder Truck division will make its racing debut Sunday on the 1/3 mile banked clay oval.   The new class will run bi-weekly, sharing the slot with the spectator eliminators.

The Budweiser IMCA Modifieds could see a different champion this season.  Jason Czarapata ran to 5 feature wins last season and picked up his third straight division title.   He is tied for third on the all time feature win list with Brad Rohloff at 21.   Jason indicated he may cut his weekly schedule back this season, but he said that last season and won the track title.

Rod Snellenberger comes off a three win season last year in the Coor’s Light IMCA Stock Car division which he claimed his 6th career title at Seymour.  On August 10, he won his 199th career IMCA feature, but had to wait until this season, April 11 right here in Seymour to earn his 200th career feature victory in a thrilling duel with Brandon Czarapata, who himself has over 100 career division feature wins. Rod sits on top the all time list here with 64 feature wins, and looks to add track title number 7 to his extensive resume.

The Turbo Blue Street Stocks saw Ryan Blank claim his first career track title in a division that has been very competitive over the years.   In 27 years, Ryan became the 24 different driver to win the title. Meaning there have only been three repeat champs.    Ryan is looking to become the fourth.

The IMCA Sport Mods welcomes a new series sponsor to Seymour Speedway.  O’Reilly Auto Parts has signed on for the title sponsor roll in exciting open wheel division.  Jeremy Cota ran to an impressive 6 feature wins last season claiming his first career title here at the Seymour Speedway.  He became the 7th different champion and looks to become the first repeat champ.   He started this season winning the Sprint Thaw to bring his division leading feature total to 20.

The 4 Cylinder division saw Cody Hungerford chase down his first career title last year.  He won one feature last year, but with 9 different feature winners, that was an accomplishment in the very competitive class. A total of 5 of those winners  were first time winners, which claimed 10 of the 16 features run last year.   Look for more tight racing in the 4 Cylinder division this season.

A new division, Thunder Trucks, will m\be making bi-weekly tops at the Seymour Speedway this season.   It is a true entry level division with no modifications to a stock pickup truck.   They will run their first official race this Sunday April 19 at Seymour.   The division will run  weekly at Manitowoc and Thunder Hill, and will have a contingency package to run for in its inaugural season.

Other notable events on this years  32nd season schedule.

The WDLMA Late Models will return for 2 more races as part of their Super 7 Series in 2015.    They will be part of the 1st leg of the Summer Holiday Classic series on Memorial Day weekend, May 24.    They will return on Sunday July 19 as well.

The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints will be back on Sunday August 2.   Last season, Billy Balog won a non-stop 30 lap feature event to help claim his 7th overall series championship.

INEX Legends will compete again on Sunday June 7th.

The Kids Club will be in full swing as well with special events throughout the season.   2 notable nights will be June 21 when GSR Racing Supplies will sponsor the Bike Giveaway.     Kelsey Coatings and 1st Choice Auto Sales will again team up to present the Coin Toss on August 9.

The track will also be hosting 4 practice nights this season on the 2nd Tuesday of the month.  Dates are May 12, June 9m July 14 and August 11.

We hope you see you at the Seymour Speedway in 2015. We appreciate you  chooseing  to make the Seymour Speedway  a stop on your weekly race schedule.
